The 12th edition of the Metallization and Interconnection Workshop for Crystalline Solar Cells (MIW) will take place on October 23-24, 2024, in Le Bourget-du-Lac, Chambéry, France. The event is hosted by CEA at the Institut National de l'Énergie Solaire (INES).

OPEN THE MIW DEDICATED WEBSITEThis scientific workshop will gather exerts on cell metallization, interconnections on the following evergreen and/or upcoming topics such as
- Progress in screen printing and alternative deposition methods
- Current-fired contacts (CFC) / Laser enhanced contact optimization (LECO)
- Novel paste formulation (incl. Cu, Al) and novel screen types
- Metallization for advanced cell concepts (e.g. TOPCon, SHJ, IBC)
- Metallization of tandem solar cells with Perovskite top-cell: technical and economically challenges
- Progress in multi bus bar, multi wire and alternative interconnection approaches
- Shingling and other zero-spacing interconnection schemes
- Conductive adhesive interconnections
- Durability and degradation issues of metallization and interconnection
- Availability and sustainability of metals, recycling and circular economy.
This year we have received a record number of abstracts, and the scientific committee is at work to define the program following a stringent review process. The final program will be posted by late August, stay tuned.
To foster technical exchange and networking that following our tradition that this year edition will also include a Welcome drink on the 22th of October, a social event with a boat tour on the biggest Alpine lake in France and lively dinner in the historic city of Chambéry. At the end of the workshop a technical tour of the research facilities of CEA could be also visited.
